Pino’s Trattoria

Pino’s Trattoria, a fair dinkum Italian eatery in Cowes, Phillip Island, has been dishing up the goods for 30 years. Famous for its straight-up Italian grub, especially the pizza and pasta, it’s a hit with both the locals and blow-ins.

The chefs here are dead-set legends, constantly sprucing up the specials board. The front-of-house crew is on the ball, ready to serve up a beaut Italian aperitif with a smile.

San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op

Kicking off in 1948, the San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op brings in the freshest seafood from their fleet, focusing on sustainable catch like lobster, scallops, and various fish.

They dish up a mean feed of fish and chips, grilled seafood, and crayfish platters to die for.

Every day at lunch, they put on a free Pelican Feeding Show on the beach, with many pelicans rocking for a feed. Plus, there’s a chance to learn about local fishing history at the Fishing Heritage Museum.

Phillip Island Winery

This beautiful spot on Phillip Island’s south coast sits on 14 acres, with 3 acres under vine, and offers a stunning setting for weddings and events. It’s a gem with lush lawns, a quaint cellar door, and cracking views of Bass Strait.

Their menu serves a storm for lunch and arvo snacks, including shared plates and pizzas, all made with local produce. The vibe is friendly, and the service is spot-on.

The cellar doors have wine tastings and bottles for sale, focusing on local grapes. They’re pouring everything from Pinot Noir to a bubbly Chardonnay-Pinot Noir blend, and they’re keen to expand their vineyard soon.

Over on a stunning little slice of Phillip Island, Purple Hen Winery offers views that’ll knock your socks off, along with top-notch excellent climate wines, all family-run.

Their 11-hectare vineyard is a star, racking up over 150 medals and 20 trophies for their wines, which are as elegant as they come.

Unlike traditional lagers, Philip Island Brewing Co. focuses on producing distinctive small-batch handcrafted beers.

Specialty malts, yeasts, and hops are used to create unique flavours in beer. Australian native fruits and plants are also incorporated into the brewing process to produce a variety of specialty brews exclusive to the Island.

Phillip Island Brewing Co offers a variety of ales in their core range and seasonal options like the Churchill English Special Bitter, Black Cockie infused with local Shiraz, and the famous Chicory Stout made with roasted chicory.
